Aurora Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in Inky Dinky

The Claim:

Wish you had a nail polish that had all the pros of gel polish and regular polish? Say hello to GEL EFFECT nail polish! It’s easy and convenient to use, dries super fast without a UV lamp, is extra shiny and durable, and will last up to two weeks. It can also be easily removed with polish remover! Talk about the best of both worlds.

  • Dries without a UV lamp
  • Leaves a durable, shiny finish
  • Easy to remove

Love:

It’s a pretty royal purple hue. I can definitely picture it slaying on some stiletto tips.

Meh:

I haven’t painted my own nails in two decades so nail polish doesn’t thrill me. I prefer more muted tones on my own nails so this isn’t a shade I would ever pick for myself.

Would I Buy Full Size?

No.

Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Committed by The Balm

The Claim:

theBalm introduces a truly loyal long-lasting liquid lipstick—Meet Matt(e) Hughes. This long-wearing formula has a comfortable matte finish with no commitment issues. This matte vanilla mint liquid lipstick is stuck on you without feeling clingy!

Love:

This is a gorgeous liquid lipstick formula that goes on creamy and dries to a true matte finish. It held up wonderfully throughout the day and the shade was a perfect nude. Did I mention it tastes like those mint chocolates they give you at Olive Garden? It does.

Meh:

There are other liquid lipsticks on the market that are highly comparable to this one at a much lower price point and with a larger shade range.

Would I Buy Full Size?

Even though I really liked this, I remain loyal to my ColourPop Ultra Mattes – so no.

microdermabrasion by Dr. Brandt Skincare

The Claim:

dr. brandt microdermabrasion is a revolutionary formula designed to mimic the transformative brightening, smoothing effects of the popular in-office microdermabrasion treatment, at home.

  • Enables better absorption of skincare products
  • An at home alternative to professional, clinical treatments
  • Helps diminish the appearance of fine lines, acne marks and skin discolorations

Love:

This exfoliant truly met all expectations. The abrasives were gentle, yet effective and my skin was SO soft and radiant after using it.

Meh:

I really have zero complaints.

Would I Buy Full Size?

Absolutely. I’m already dying to use it again!

Fragrance Free Hand & Body Lotion by Beauty Without Cruelty

The Claim:

This lotion moisturizes, softens, and protects your skin. Shea butter, jojoba and kukui nut oil combined with aloe vera soothe and replenish your skin to keep it looking youthful & vibrant.

  • Paraben-free
  • Cruelty-free
  • 100% Vegan-Vegetarian

Love:

I think a brand that stands for something is amazing – and this brand’s commitment to being safe and cruelty-free is admirable.

Meh:

I am not a fan of unscented lotion. To me there was nothing special about this and I’m not really subscribing for hand lotion.

Would I Buy Full Size?

Nope.

Professional Slant Tweezer by Emite Makeup

The Claim:

This is a professional angled tweezer in quality steel. It applies the perfect amount of tension and maximum precision.

Love:

They’re pink! Plus they come in a handy little tube that is perfect for throwing in your purse or makeup bag.

Meh:

They don’t work as well as my Tweezermans. They’ll get the job done but I’m not impressed enough to switch.

Would I Buy Full Size?

No.

Overall:

I was pretty unimpressed with my bag this month. Although I loved the Dr. Brandt’s microdermabrasion and liquid lipstick from The Balm – the body lotion and nail polish were less than thrilling.
